How to drive traffic to your Site or Blog

Today I would like to give you a few easy tips about generating no
cost traffic. When a person is first starting out online, more
often than not, the case is they have very limited funds...thus,
f.re.e and/or low cost traffic is the best traffic.

So, without gabbing on for too long..here are 6 tips to hopefully
help boost your stats counter.

-------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Feeder Sites on 3rd Party Hosting Platforms

That's right. Go to sites like Tumblr, Squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger,
Blog, Blogr and any of the other 3rd party hosting platforms out
there and start a page based solely on keywords you want to target
for your main site.

Link back only to your MAIN site, with one or two aff. links mixed
in but keep it very ad-light. The goal is to drive traffic and back
links to your main site.

Be sure to make posts on each of these at a minimum of once every 3
days. Social bookmark your new posts, Pingoat.com your RSS feed and
dig around for links to these feeder sites.

2) Exchange or Trade Links with other sites

With exchanging links with other sites, both of you will benefit
from the efforts both of you do to enhance your sites traffic. When
one site features another sites link, they could provide one another
with the traffic one site generates.

The efforts are doubly beneficial because it would seem like both
of you are working to generate more traffic. The more links
traded with more sites the more traffic could be expected.

Most importantly, links back to your site increase your SE
visibility.

A common strategy is to do 3 way linking with other webmasters.

That way, all the links pointing to each others sites are ONE Way
back links. These are the MOST powerful as they lead to greater
relevance in the engines.

3) Use Viral Marketing

Viral marketing allows you to spread the word about your company and
product without any costs or if ever low costs only. This is a
marketing method that can be quite sneaky; you can attach your
company's name, product or link to a certain media such as a funny
video, entertaining game, an interesting article or a gossip or buzz.

With this method, people get so infected with the creativity and
entertainment of the medium that they will pass it on to others.

4) Search and use proper keywords or keyword phrases for your sites
content

Search engines look for certain keywords that they would show in
their results page. In doing so, having the right keyword and
keyword phrase is a high requirement in ranking in high in search
engine results. You could write your own content or you could hire
someone to do it for you.

A couple of good tools for finding long tail keywords or keywords
that you might not have thought of for your niche are:

5) Article Marketing

Submit articles to sites that would contain the same subject
that your site deals in. If you sell car parts write press releases
and articles about cars and car parts. Attach your sites description
and services at the end of the article as well as the link.

6) Forums

In an email previous we discussed the power of forums a little bit.
I've added it here again as it's very powerful. Particularly if you
are making relevant and non spammy posts.

You'll build a solid reputation in the forum and people will take
what's in your sig much more valuable.

Additionally, by being a positive forum contributor you're adding
to your 'expert' status. This is extremely important as well.

Forum sigs are also great sources for back links to help out in the
search engines, and most often than not these are one-way.
